The following article of Ukrainian scientists was published in a prestigious international journal

The most important tool for popularisation of national science in the world is the publications in international peer-reviewed journals, that are a part of such important scientiometric databases as Scopus and Pubmed, and have an impact factor. The latter is an indicator, characterizing the status and citation rate of the edition. The scientists know that the higher the impact factor of the journal is, the higher the criteria are, to which the research should correspond to be published.

Ukrainian cryobiologists, biotechnologists, specialists in the field of cord blood, other human cells and tissues biobanking make an important contribution to the formation of a positive image of the Ukrainian science in the world, complying with high demands to the quality of scientific articles and publishing them in status international journals.

In particular, scientific articles of the Institute of Cell Therapy authors, devoted to the study of placental stem cells were published in such prestigious international journals as Placenta (2017, Impact factor – 2.8), Experimental and Therapeutic Medicine (2016, 2017, Impact factor – 1.56), Oncology letters (2018, Impact factor – 1.6), Сytometry Part A (2018, Impact factor – 3.26). In 2019, an article of the Institute of Cell Therapy, devoted to the results of the  study on immunophenotype and the expression of genes in the placenta stem cells at various stages of cultivation, was accepted and published by an international peer-reviewed scientific journal BioMed Research International (Impact factor of the journal is 2.6).

This paper of the Institute of Cell Therapy Institute team of authors, entitled “High Proliferative Placenta-Derived Multipotent Cells Express Cytokeratin 7 at Low Level” is of great practical value, since it presents valuable molecular markers of the placenta stem cells at different stages of cultivation, that is important for the purposes of cell therapy.

The Institute of Cell Therapy, a co-founder and an active member of the Association of Cryobanks, makes a significant contribution to the development of personal storage of stem cells and tissues in Ukraine and the formation of a positive image of Ukrainian science in the world. In addition to providing high-quality umbilical cord blood stem cell and umbilical cord storage services, the Institute of Cell Therapy was the first in the country and one of the first in the world to offer future parents a high-tech service of placental storage after childbirth on the base of the only ISO-accredited Cryobank in Ukraine.
