The decision upon the acceptance of new members to the Association of “CORD BLOOD BANKS, OTHER HUMAN TISSUES AND CELLS” is taken by the Board of the Association on the Board Meeting, that takes place not rarer than once in half a year.
Before making a nomination to a vote, the Secretariat of the Association studies the application of a potential member for compliance with the requirements of the Association and submits for the election by the Association Board.
Requirements for candidates for entry into the Association:
1. For the banks of the umbilical cord blood, other human tissues and cells (in Ukraine):
1.1. possession of a license issued by the State Service of Social Diseases of Ukraine on “Activities of cord blood banks, other human tissues and cells”;
1.2. possession of a license issued by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for the “medical practice” (with an extract on the presence of a specialty – molecular diagnostics (PCR) laboratory);
1.3. attestation certificate of the molecular diagnostics (PCR) laboratory
2. For the banks of the umbilical cord blood (foreign):
2.1. availability of appropriate legal justifications for the right of storage of cell transplants, confirmed by the licensing / accrediting body of the country, in which the company is registered;
2.2. availability of accreditation according to international standards for collecting, banking and release of the umbilical cord blood preparations.
3. For the medical organizations (Ukraine):
3.1. possession of a license issued by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for the “medical practice”;
3.2.inclusion in the list of organizations, conducting clinical trials of cell and tissue transplants by the Coordination Center of Organs, Cells and Tissues Transplantation of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
4. For the medical organizations (foreign):
4.1. availability of appropriate legal justifications for the right of the application of cell and tissue transplants, confirmed by the licensing/accrediting body of the country, in which the company is registered;
4.2. availability of accreditation according to international standards for the application of cell technologies (desirable).
5. For the higher educational institutions:
5.1. possession of a license for the educational activity, issued by the Ministry of Education (for Ukraine) or the appropriate accrediting organ (for the other countries);
5.2. availability of accreditation on the directions of medical and biological prophile.
6. For the specialized scientific and research institutes and organizations:
6.1. conduction of scientific and research work in the field of medicine and biology;
6.2. possession of the accreditation on the directions of medical and biological prophile.
