The Association of cryobanks of cord blood, other human cells and tissues is the only professional association of licensed biobanks in the country and makes every effort to develop the sector of high-quality services in the field of biomaterial cryoconservation in Ukraine.

One of the most important indicators of the provision of services of adequate quality by the cryobank is its certification by International Accreditation Committees, primarily the International Certification Organization (ISO).

ISO was created in 1947 with the aim of unifying standards developed by different countries of the world for the smooth exchange of products between states. International ISO standards ensure that products or services of a certified company are safe, reliable, and of good quality.

In 2014, the Institute of Cell Therapy, a co-founder and active member of the Association of cryobanks, became the first cord blood bank in Ukraine to receive a high international quality certificate ISO 2009:2008, and to this day remains the only cryobank of the country whose quality management system complies with the ISO standard 2009:2015.

The condition for obtaining a prestigious international quality certificate ISO 2009: 2015 is the successful completion of external supervisory audits. And in 2019, the Institute of Cell Therapy once again confirmed the compliance of the quality management system with the requirements of ISO 2009:2015.

The presence of ISO-certified cryobank of cord blood, other human tissues and cells in the country not only guarantees the highest quality biomaterial cryoconservation services to the clients, but is also an important indicator of the civilized development of biobanking in Ukraine.
