Traditionally, every year in the month of May the Family Planning Week is marked in Ukraine.

The purpose of the Ukrainian Family Planning Week is to increase public awareness on family planning and care about reproductive health.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine in 2016 has established the Family Planning Week from 11th to 17th May.

Reproductive health is a component of population health and affects a number of indices that characterize the state of health of the population.

Thus, the care of young Ukrainians about their reproductive health, healthy lifestyle and conscious attitudes to parenting are important for having healthy offspring.

But modern medical technologies allow prospective parents to ensure their baby an extra supply of health – to preserve cord blood stem cells at birth, which are used in the treatment of more than 80 severe diseases and also the placenta.

Cofounder and the full member of the Association of Cryobanks – the Institute of Cell Therapy was the first in Ukraine to offer in 2004 cryostorage of cord blood stem cells and placenta and is the only cord blood bank in Ukraine, accredited according to ISO 9001: 2008.
