The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is an international organization that brings together scientists working in the field of cell technologies and promotes the development and internationalization of research aimed at creating new therapies using stem cells. Among Ukrainian biotech enterprises, Institute of Cell Therapy is a member of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) for many years, being also a full member and co-founder of the Association of cryobanks.
The annual meeting of ISSCR is a unique opportunity for researchers, doctors, representatives of industry of cells and tissues banking and other industry professionals to exchange knowledge and experience. In 2015, an international ISSCR conference was attended by about 3000 experts from 55 countries.
In 2015, Ukraine was represented at the ISSCR conference by the director of the cryobank of the Institute of Cell Therapy, holder of the State Prize of Ukraine Lobintseva GS, PhD and deputy director of cryobank Shabliy VA, PhD. The scientific program of this year conference included 3 poster presentations of the scientists of the Institute of Cell Therapy:
1. TRANSPLANTATION OF PLACENTAL ADHERENT MULTIPOTENT CELLS DOES NOT AFFECT MID/LATE TUMOR PROGRESSION IN DIMETHYLHYDRAZINE-INDUCED COLON CARCINOGENESIS IN RATS
2. HEMATOPOIETIC STEM/PROGENITOR CELLS FROM HUMAN PLACENTAL TISSUE, UMBILICAL CORD BLOOD, AND FETAL LIVER
3. PLACENTAL DERIVED MULTIPOTENT CELLS POSSESS TROPHOBLAST SPECIFIC FEATURES
The international scientific community highly appreciated the professional achievements of Ukrainian colleagues, fundamental and practical importance of research conducted by them as well as its high laboratory level.
Association of cryobanks congratulates the Institute of Cell Therapy with one more international recognition and hopes that the scientific staff of the Institute, inspired by participation in the conference of such a high level, will continue research aimed at finding new treatments and improving the quality of life of people with even greater enthusiasm.
